MS-170 Bike Tour 1997"
* Mike Dowd participated recently in
"Coast the Coast" Multiple Sclerosis 170 Mile Bike Tour
- a two day grind that took him from Sandy Hook to Cape May on
May 3rd and 4th. It rained. "My sneakers felt like five
pound weights. The wind was sooo strong. It felt like a hurricane
on the bridge. My average speed for most of the day was 16.2
mph." Mike said the tour was an unusually rough one, because
of the weather. He noted that bikers travel at their own pace
with rest stops every 10 to 15 miles. "Even you can ride in
this, Howard," Mike said. The man lies.
* Mike raised $1,657.00 from the local businesses and dignitaries, which goes to the fund dedicated to battling MS. In September, he plans to enter . . . (page 8) . . . the Diet Pepsi MS-100. Want to join the MS-100 is to call (201) 976-8687. |
